A Small project, but a noteworthy result. We were tasked by altering the acoustics of a small training facility in Bloemfontein. The challenge came from two interlinked problems.. 1. The training center get really loud, when eight adult men get into a discussion, nobody can hear a thing. The sound would just bounce off the smooth walls and Eco for ages, and the louder you talk the worst the problem became, and 2. Mounted Cameras with on

board microphones need to pic up on dialect in a de-briefing situation – which in its nature can get quite loud and heated.
Our Solution – Two 1m x 3m x 150mm Panels suspended 100mm off the wall – Padded with 4 Different densities of material, to maximize absorption. We also added 1.5m x 4m absorption materials around the two microphone/cameras to absorb any standing waves directly around the microphones.
The Result – a very good absorption of standing waves and reflected sound, 8 people can have a loud, heated discussion and the camera/microphones pick up on the complete conversation - everybody can hear each other – the microphones as well.
This is the perfect solution to any training center, call center or any place the spoken word needs to be absorbed as fast as possible, more of these or bigger panels have a massive effect in churches and larger venues.
